A native of Dallas, Texas, Dr Ian Weisberg displayed excellence early in life, distinguishing himself both academically and athletically. He earned “All Southwest” honors in soccer and helped lead The Greenhill School tennis team to a National Championship at Duke University. These formative experiences instilled in him a sense of discipline, teamwork, and resilience—qualities that would later define his approach to medicine.
His educational journey began at Emory University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics while completing a rigorous premed curriculum. His scholastic achievements earned him membership in the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa honor society. During his college years, Dr Ian Weisberg expanded his global perspective through academic studies at the London School of Economics and the Institute of Italian Studies in Florence, Italy. He returned to Emory to complete his Doctor of Medicine degree, setting the stage for a distinguished career in cardiology.
Following medical school, Dr Ian Weisberg completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the renowned Parkland Memorial Hospital through UT Southwestern in Dallas. He pursued his Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Florida in Jacksonville, where he served with distinction as Chief Fellow. Driven by a passion for heart rhythm disorders, he further specialized in electrophysiology through Clinical and Advanced Fellowships at the University of Chicago. There, he gained extensive experience in AFib ablation, Watchman device procedures, and the implantation of advanced cardiac devices including pacemakers, ICDs, and CRTs.
Professionally, Dr Ian Weisberg made a profound impact during his eight years in Pensacola, where he helped launch the Electrophysiology lab at Gulf Breeze Hospital. His dedication earned him the We Care Doctor of the Year award in both 2012 and 2014. He also made history by being one of the first U.S. physicians to implant the innovative Biotronik DX ICD device.
Later, Dr Ian Weisberg expanded EP services at North Okaloosa Medical Center and performed advanced procedures at HCA Fort Walton-Destin, significantly enhancing cardiac care access across the Emerald Coast.
In January 2025, he established Emerald Coast Heart & AFib—the region’s only clinic exclusively devoted to heart rhythm and AFib care. Serving Okaloosa and Santa Rosa counties, Dr Ian Weisberg provides patients with individualized, expert treatment in a welcoming, supportive environment.
